Frugal Moms² Book Club & Giveaway!

August 7, 2015 by Kim Gordon 19 Comments

Our first Frugal Moms ² Book Club selection is Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin

Guess what? We’re starting a Frugal Moms² Book Club! Every week, we’ll read and discuss a chapter of some of the best frugal books ever written! Our first few books are all listed in my recent article on Five Frugal Books Worth Reading (and Re-reading).

Here’s the schedule through early next year:
August 10- October 11: Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin
October 5-December 7: Unplug the Christmas Machine by Jo Robinson and Jean C. Staeheli (will overlap slightly)
January 4 -April 4: The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey

And we’re kicking it all off by giving away TWO copies of Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin to two lucky winners!

Update: The winners are: Marie and Dee! (Debbie was originally picked but already had a copy!)

There are many ways to enter (pick one or do as many as you like):
Post a comment here on this article
Post a comment to our Facebook page
Send a tweet to us on our Twitter account

Please note: comments are moderated for new people posting on our website, but I’ll approve them as fast as I can. 🙂

Two winners will be randomly picked by the cutie below and announced on Monday, August 17.

My littlest frugal "assistant" will pick the winners!

Our first Book Club discussion will start next week, on August 10 with Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin. So grab a copy off your shelf, borrow from a friend or the libary, or get a used one on Amazon (there’s a kindle version too). And don’t worry if you fall behind, the discussion pages will remain up, so you can go at your own pace or reread it later and post more insights.

If you have ideas for future Book Club discussions, please let me know by using the Contact Us form.

I would love to win a copy. If not, I’ll be stopping at Half Price Books so I can read along.

I’m in for book club but I’d rather increase the odds of someone else winning the book (read: don’t put me in the drawing). I “win” by sharing my experiences.

It’s been years since I read Dominguez and Robin’s book but what I remember of it makes me want to go over it again. Thanks for setting up the book club and offering a chance to win a copy, too.

Welcome Carolyn! We’re so happy to have you here! It’s been years for me too. In fact, I couldn’t find my hard copy of the book because I think I loaned in to a friend a decade ago. Can’t remember which friend! So I’m reading the ebook version.

I’d love to win a copy of this, however I’m not sure if I am eligible to enter as I live in the UK? I’d be willing to pay postage if that helps.

Welcome, Sue! I don’t think your location should be a problem. I’m sending them directly from Amazon. Glad to have you aboard! 🙂

I’m here, but don’t need another copy of the book. I’m afraid I have a shelf of nothing but frugal books.

I have divided Week 1 into three different posts because it’s so long!

-The Introduction will launch tomorrow (today actually, it’s after midnight.)

-Chapter 1 will go live on Tuesday. It’s extremely long. I was hoping to get it done tonight but it’s so deep and really good, but I’m falling sleep on my keyboard.

-Step 1 (the exercise part) will launch on Wednesday. There’s so much to discuss from the first two parts that waiting the extra day for the last part is probably better.

I’m looking forward to going through this with you all! It will be challenging but life changing!
    Kim 🙂

We agree we try to patronize loaclly owned businesses as much as possible. We figure if we help the locals, we are helping our community because the bulk of the money spent stays in the community.
